Maryalice Grotkowski Blake '68 Endowed Scholarship for Nursing
Established August 2020
The Maryalice Grotkowski Blake ’68 Endowed Scholarship was established by Maryalice Blake to provide funds to help students receive access to a Nursing education at SUNY Canton. The scholarship may be awarded to a new or continuing student with financial need and enrolled in the RN-Nursing A.A.S., the Nursing-RN BS or the Nursing RN Dual Degree-A.A.S. /BS programs. The scholarship will be awarded to a student from St. Lawrence County with first preference given to a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy.
Maryalice Grotkowski Blake ’68 grew up in Ogdensburg, NY and was a member of SUNY Canton’s first graduating class from the newly formed Nursing program. She is very proud and thankful for her education that allowed her to qualify and receive her RN license after only two years, a license she has maintained to this day. Understanding the value, rigor, and benefit of a SUNY Canton education, she wishes to give back to the College that helped launch her career. Maryalice hopes that her scholarship will provide needed funds to future nursing students so that they may enjoy the fulfilling career that she herself has enjoyed.
